Emergence- The Storm

I was taking a breath outside, standing peacefully and contemplatively at the top of the steps of Sebbe’s garden. The sky was blue, the birds were singing and the air was alive with the laughter of children.

Suddenly, without warning, the air carried a chill and the sky blackened over like spilled ink. Raindrops splattered and bounced off the leaves in the pots on the terrace, ice cold fingerprints of wet pressed against my arms and caressed my cheeks.

It was storming.

Sebbe came and stood outside with me and we watched in awed silence. The hail wasn’t far behind and it whipped and slashed the grass, tarmac and plants.  I went inside to shelter, but stayed by the window to watch as Mother Nature poured her blessings upon the Earth.

“We were standing in the door opening, listening to all the beautiful sounds the rain brought, holding my arm around you. Together, watching the clouds, just felt so relaxing and a poetic truth could be found. Just poetic and calming.”~ Sebbe.

Sebbe wrote a poem~

“The Artists gather
Only in the sunshine
Sharing their creations, laughter and loves
The Artists only gather in the nicest of weathers
Day and night
For the rain storms
Only bring them their inspiration and muse closer
And even more powerful.”

Here is my mixed media painting that inspired me:

The girl is being bathed in the rejuvenating rays of the sun, connected to the intricate growth in an almost cell-like structure of the sun above her. The greens that surround her are coming alive in the daze of the Spring air, until the raindrops start to shimmer and leak, then wash down on her and her land as she breathes in their fresh, pure life.

“You have proven to your loved ones your strength- showing you can overcome.
You are showing will that you can remain even though the cries are loud, and the desires tempting.
You always amaze people around you because you stand strong, even when you are at your weakest.
You don’t disappoint because despite all the setbacks you still stand there every day.
And you still go for it all the way.
All the past did make you who you are today.
Even if you aren’t feeling well, you still stand all that way.”

This poem was written by both of us as we were talking together at twilight~

Fall of the evening

The shimmers of light

Last ones before the dark of the night rolls in

The shadows are gathering to welcome in the night

The rays that warmed our soul gently give way

The last breath of the evening breeze caresses the sun as it disappears

To lead the moon into her spotlight

The last calls of the hedge and forest creatures echo

Through the expectant thinning light.

Infinity- το άπειρο

‘τα παντα ρεουν, τιποτα παραμενει ακινητο’

everything flows, nothing stays still

The infinite above me,

The multi-layered expanse of nothing & everything- does not scare me

Because I am you and you are me.

We are born of stardust

and rooted beneath the haven of Earth Mother Gaia’s soil-

There is no death-

only constant rebirth.

Gaia & Pan

The fusion of love-

male & female, masculine & feminine, dark & Light,

from the connection of the trees to the earth and the heavens,

from humans’ reliance on the tree for oxygen,

the animals’ need for shelter and food,

the fertility and abundance found in the synergy of love & respect for Nature

and soul love for each other.

She is a flower of Mother Earth

gently starting to blossom

laying still in the grass

confused. In pain.

she believes her end is near-

only to stand up,

blossoming into the flower she grew to be.
